    Agendas

Parents, please check your child’s agenda EVERY DAY, and ask them questions about what they learned. This will help you understand what is happening in school, and will also help students to review what they have learned. (Yes, students will remember more if they review what they’ve learned daily!) The agenda also lists homework assignments, upcoming tests and projects, so please help your child to stay on top of their schedule. Occasionally, I may use the agenda to communicate with you – look at the bottom of each page for the “home-school communication” section to see if there are any notes from me.

    Contact

If you would like to schedule a conference to discuss your child’s progress, please know that I am available every Wednesday and Friday from 1pm onwards during my planning period. If you need to see me at any other time, please feel free to email me or leave a message with the school office. I am easiest to reach by email at mob0227@lausd.net. If you would like me to call you, please email me with your home, work or cell number and what time to reach you.

    Safety

Please monitor your children on the internet. Just because they are indoors doesn’t make them safe. Neither Ms. Hawkins, ISLC, nor LAUSD is responsible for what a child does on the internet. It is extremely important that while a child is surfing the internet, a parent is supervising and/or aware of what the child is doing online.

Ms hawkins my name is hector ramos. My son Hector Jose Ramos goes to your classes: math and science. It is extremely important for us that he excels in math and english. Last summer he went to chosen to go to a camp for the national center for academic excellence. He was at occidental college for a week in which they develop their own game, market it and sold it. it was a great learning experience for him. We got in the mail information from johns hopkins university center for talented youth. We would like you to review it with him and give us feedback on it. Thank you very much
Hector and Cecilia Ramos
